Red Bull Gives You Wings

This event was sponsored by Red Bull. Too bad it was at night. No flash, high ISO = high noise. Still, I was happy to have taken some shots to share, not that they are good...

Fireworks

I love the atmosphere when there are fireworks in the air. You can hear the gasping and cheers from young and old alike, you can see the colorful flames forming beautiful patterns in the sky and you can definitely see the tiny sparkles that remains in the eyes of the children after every show.

The only sad thing is that there are too little opportunities to take fireworks in Singapore, although I have to admit that things are picking up.

This was taken on National Day 2008. Tried to include the landscape but the photo is a bit slanted.

This was captured during the Arts' Festival Fireworks show in Yishun. I liked this shot beacause it gave me the image of a pheonix undergoing its resurrection.

National Day 2009. Again, I tried to include other objects so as to enhance the photo. I liked the reflection of the colours in the stream of water from the Merlion's mouth.

My favourite shot to date. I liked how the fireworks mimic the shape of the palm trees. To think that I was actually cursing myself for not going earlier and getting a 'better' position. Sometimes, being blocked is a good thing... haha

Teddy Bear Show 2009 Part 2

Here's the second part of the teddy bear show 2009. The sad thing here is that some of the exibitors disallow photo-taking of their products. :(

This is a mother and child pair. These bears look kind of sad though.

Goofy looking fellow. I wonder what was going through the creator's mind when he made this. Whatever it was, this bear stood out from the rest even if it was for the wrong reasons.

This little fellow may be small, but it was nice to touch and it looks really cute.

This is a one-of-a-kind teddy fox. It is handmade and it is expensive. Think 4 digits.

"For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow..."

This is another fox. Will make a fabulous table ornament!

Not really a furry teddy bear but I liked this, cos just it's a polar bear.

Teddy Bear Show 2009 Part 1

Here's the photos from the Teddy Bear Show 2009. Just a small note to my sis: you cannot see this... you cannot see this... you cannot see this...I just want today's date on my blog. This post is also a tribute to someone really special to me... My mum!

This is a sweet one.

A "teddy cat" that looks quite stern.

I found these chickens quite cute. Really admire the artist that created these.

A close-up of one of the chickens.

Inspired by Harry Porter, I guess. Forgot to check if there was a scar on his forehead.

I found this panda interesting. It looks kind of alive.

I love this shot not because of the main subject but rather the cute faces in sunglasses peeping up.

Teddy Bear Show 2008

I heard about this event from a friend. I am not a great fan of teddy bears but I am sure glad I went, both in 2008 and 2009. Hopefully, the event will continue in years to come. I will post the shots from 2009 soon.

Honestly, the teddy lamb (if there is such a term) caught my attention more than the bear did. However, the duo do offer a good photo opportunity.

I just found this little fellow adorable.

I love the innocent look on this bear's face. And the toy car fit in well with him.

This one looked even better dressed than everyone I know. Talk about tai-tais... or maybe because nobody can dress up to this extend in tropical Singapore...

This weird looking one is for sale... at $400!!! But the good news is that it was for charity.

See no evil... I wonder why...

And last but not least, my favourite... the polar bear!!!! hehe....

Swamp Things

These are really creatures that emerge from the swamp. All these were captured at Sungei Buloh, Singapore. I am particularly interested in the mudskippers.

This is a mudskipper, fishes that are able to crawl onto land and skip about in the mud, hence the name.

Another shot of the mudskipper.

One more shot of the mudskipper.

This crab can climb trees.

This one-eyed komodo dragon was shedding its skin by the swamp.

A tortise, but I have a feeling that this caption is not required.

Sulptures

I guess all these scultures tell a story, some clear for all to see, some requiring a bit of imagination.

This should be a familar one. It's located at Boat Quay near Fullerton Hotel.

Rooftop gardens of Orchard Central. This is the only one that I took cos this is the only one that looked alive to me. The rest of them looks as though they were impaled on a stake. Morbid...

This is an interesting one at Orchard Central. These boots belong to a tall figure of a shopper. She's thin and long and she's carrying shopping bags. I tried to capture the whole figure but did not manage to find a favourable angle. I will go and try again.

At Chong Pang, Yishun. This place used to be a farming community. Decided to do a close up and I liked the expression shown on the face.

Last but not least, a simple work of art. Strange but these pieces of egg-shells do add some joy and colour to the garden. I only hope it is not the work of vandals. Hehe...

Man's new Best Friend?

Contrary to popular beliefs, cats are social animals. They respond to speech and enjoys human company. In fact, they are the number one pet in the world, not dogs...

Here's some shots of cats that I had the pleasure of capturing... anyway, here's the disclaimer a friend said I should put: No animals were harmed in the process of getting these shots! Then again, you all knew that already, right?

This mother and child portrait was the result of a stroke of good luck. I was taking a cab home and the driver took a wrong turn. Thus, I decided to take a walk rather than asking him to turn back. I chanced upon this pair in less than 10 steps from where I dropped of.

Was waiting for a friend underneath my block. For once, I was thankful that anyone was late!

Even cats love fizzy drinks. This one was upset that someone removed his drink...

This cat belongs to a dear old friend whom has helped me through various matters bothering me in my life. Should try to arrange a meeting with him soon. Anyway, the name of the cat is Tiger.

Man's best Friend

A small collection of dogs' pics here. I would love a chance to work with a husky. But here's the shots that I like so far.

Dear old Rusty. :)

There goes the Sun!

The sun is the source of all life. This is my little way of paying tribute to it. Of course I am not talking about taking a direct shot of the sun.

I was intending to upload another set of photos today but I promised a friend of mine to upload the last few of this set. So here goes, hopefully they are, again, enjoyable!

This one was taken on the way to dinner at Ang Mo Kio with a few close friends after work. Here, I like to thank them for making my work place much more than bearable. :)

I was waiting for a friend, again for dinner, when I took this shot at Jalan Kayu.

This was a shot taken at Labrador Park. I was with a friend who rekindled my passion in photography.

The next few shots are the ones that I had promised I would post fast. These shots were taken at Sentosa Island.
